At the core of the Signature Piece is a drawing machine that converts my signature, repeated ad nauseam, into circular drawings.  The signatures are collected on a roll of paper and build in an ever increasing pile.  The drawings run the gambit from a collection of random scribbles to cohesive tie-dye like designs.

This piece confronts the notion that Art has become synonymous with an artist’s signature to then be repeated ad nauseam.  Another important aspect is that of punishment, through repetitive writing, and is a popular misconception in art.
